Two international conferences under the name «Equality means business» took place in Ankara (Turkey) on April 3rd-5th, 2012
Two big organizations “Business and Professional Women International” and UNESCO Center for Women and Peace, acting for the benefit of women and disseminating actively the United Nations resolutions aiming at promoting peace, the respect of human rights, women's empowerment and their increased participation in economic development organized the Conferences.
The Conferences were held within the framework of United Nations Basic Principles for the Improvement of the Status of Women in Economic Life.
Elena Fedyashina was invited to the events to share her experience with the participants and to support the organizers in their efforts for mobilization of UN initiative at national and international levels.
More than 250 representatives of more than 15 countries took part in the events. The conferences were dedicated to the discussion and promotion of women economic empowerment principles and the issues of bringing more women on the decision-making levels.
Elena Fedyashina, Executive Director of the Committee of 20, delivered a report «The changing role of woman in the changing world». She also presented the results of the survey «Career in Russia: how to get to the top?..» Her speech and presentation aroused a great interest and torrent of questions.
